Puerto Rico. From the day that she was born she was destined to
be a dancer. As a young girl she was involved in entertainment;
whether dancing or acting Camil had a passion for the stage. In
5th grade, Camil Reyes was a member of the Urbanizacion Country
Club's Ballet Folklorico, specializing in
the original folk dance of Bomba Y Plena from Puerto Rico. She
performed with this dance ensemble for one year. In 1997, Camil
Reyes took the stage as an actress and greeter for Disney and Universal Studios,
she took on the stage with great presence and made great
accomplishments for three years; although she made an impression
on stage and became a favorite of the studio producers, in her
heart and soul she yearned to be dancer.
In 2005, Camil Reyes attended her first dance class at Lorenz
Dance Studio specializing in New York On2. This is where Camil
learned her basics. In 2006, she became a prospect for the Mambo
Bravo professional dance company. She worked religiously with an
instructor by the name of "Victor". Working together with Victor
and her dance partner, she became an integral part of the Mambo
Bravo Dance Company. Unfortunately, before the routine was
accomplished, Camil suffered a broken foot injury and was not
able to continue her responsibilities with the team.
In 2007-2008, Camil Reyes accepted a position as Principal
Dancer for "Siempre En El Ritmo Dance Company" directed by Frank
"Ritmo" Garcia. It is here that Camil Reyes will make her mark
as an acclaimed dancer. She will be an important part in taking
this team to the highest levels. With that, she will live out
her dream to be a top professional dancer in the Salsa/Mambo
scene.
