Yalixa De La Cruz reference:

Dancing salsa was always a skill I wanted to acquire, but it seemed that trying to learn with family members or friends never worked out. In being a full time college student and working as well, I found it difficult to dedicate the time to take classes. Finally, this summer I noted some extra room in my schedule and figured in order for me to learn quickly at my own pace, I would enroll in private lessons. In taking privates, I definitely feel I moved quickly from one level of dancing to the next. I was surprised yet impressed with myself. I enjoyed the one on one work with you simply because you could understand the person’s style and how quickly they were able to pick things up. Thus, you are able to structure your teachings around that. I would definitely recommend others to take privates with you not only because of how quickly one is able to advance in salsa, but the comfort you provide to your students and how well you are able to break steps and techniques down for them to grasp. In addition, the privates have definitely made the Friday classes easier. I usually attend those for practice since they run at a slower pace. I have only taken one other salsa class before and it was a University event at my school. Compared to those instructors, your style of teaching is way better. You definitely utilize the idea of “building blocks” whereas the other instructors I had just put you right to work with confusing explanations on how to do each step. Overall, I really enjoy your instruction as I am able to grasp things quickly. It is definitely a self-esteem booster.

Learning to dance Salsa has always been a life-long ambition of mine. In just four short months Frank gave me the technique to execute expert turn patterns and the confidence to dance with passion. Frank Garcia has the perfect mixture of patience, knowledge, and enthusiasm to make anyone a great dancer.

Greg Anthony Blanco reference:

I wanted to take private sessions because I know how challenging learning levels of salsa beyond what one knows can be, especially when I started dancing this summer. I wanted to be ready to recieve instruction in Level 3.
I definitely improved. I wouldn't say I am advanced but I am pretty comfortable integrating, interchanging and varying the building blocks I have learned thus far which is what my instructor recommended I needed for level 3.
I like that my instructor was punctual and knows his material.
I highly recommend the private sessions because Mr. Garcia reciprocates the effort you put into your session.
The private sessions speed up your appreciation and understanding of the building blocks of salsa. Not to mention the small details of your form are sharpened.
I have been lucky to have good instructors in Salsa. What I prefer from Mr. Garcia is his teaching method where you learn how foundation steps and hand position govern most of every pattern seen in salsa. This allows you to personalize what you learn. It is exactly like he says " It should come from the heart."
