My name
is George Cuevas, born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. I
developed a passion for salsa at a young age when, I was exposed
to Seguida & The Fania All Stars and their percussion players. I
have a strong background in Latin percussion instruments and
African conga patterns. I have played congas, clave and bongos.
During my tenure as a percussionist, I have had the opportunity
to play congas with Candido Camaro (a famous conga player from
Cuba). When I am not dancing, I am making my own music
arrangements at my home base studio.
My first steps in Salsa On2 were taught to me by my sister,
Sonia. I
started taking salsa lessons in 2002. I've taken classes
and performed with known salsa instructors such as Joe Burgos.
Currently, I am a member of Siempre En El Ritmo Dance Company.
